0 Pieces of You by Hannah Downing Blog Tour

I had the great opportunity to read  Hannah Downing's Pieces Of  You.

Charlotte Barnes was living the perfect life, until a series of events forced her from everything she knew and loved. Now, five years later, she’s ready to face her past, and the truth. But will that truth destroy her new-found happiness?
Pieces of Us is an emotional roller-coaster about lost love and how one small indiscretion can ultimately change your entire life. In the end, Charlotte will question every decision she has ever made and find that, sometimes, you need to lose everything to truly find yourself.

I think that we all have been, where  Charlotte  is , We all have  a image in our head on how  are lives should be  and when they don't turn out the way that we thought it should , we tend to think our lives are over. Many times it just the begriming.

Hannah Downing does a Awesome job with Character development, You really feel as though you are right there with many of the characters.. You feel the happiness, sorrow, joy , love and every other emotion that you can think of. I loved Pieces Of You  and recommend that you pick up a copy for yourself. It will  defiantly make you look at the events  of you own life.

While you at it go to Hannah's page and check out what she has going on for her blog tour http://www.hannahdowning.com

I receive a PDF copy of Pieces Of You from Hannah Downing for my honest review.

4 Sweeter Than Birdsong by Rossyln Elliott

Sweeter Than Birdsong coversm.jpgAbout the book:

Music offers Kate sweet refuge from her troubles . . . but real freedom is sweeter.

In Westerville, Ohio, 1855, Kate Winter’s dreams are almost within reach. As the first woman to graduate from Otterbein College, she’ll be guaranteed her deepest wish: escape from the dark secret haunting her family. But with her mother determined to marry her off to a wealthy man, Kate must face reality. She has to run. Now. And she has the perfect plan. Join the upcoming musical performance—and use it to mask her flight.

Ben Hanby, Otterbein College’s musical genius, sees Kate Winter as an enigmatic creature, notable for her beauty, yet painfully shy. Then he hears her sing—and the glory of her voice moves him as never before. He determines to cast her in his musical and uncover the mystery that is Kate. Still, he must keep his own secret to himself. Not even this intriguing woman can know that his passionate faith is driving him to aid fugitives on the Underground Railroad.

A terrifying accident brings Kate and Ben together, but threatens to shatter both their secrets and their dreams. Kate can no longer deny the need to find her courage—and her voice—if she is to sing a new song for their future.

My Thoughts

Sweeter Than Birdsong had a special place in my heart, before I even cracked the cover and that is because it is set in Westerville Ohio, Otterbein College which is only about a Hour and half away from my hometown. so i knew when I read about this book a just knew that I had to review it. Not only that but the novel was inspired by real historical people had me intrigued from the start.

We all know that certain songs have a special place in our hearts every time that it is heard, but I feel that music  can bring about all kinds of emotions such a anger, love, peace and what i think is the most important emotion hope. That is exactly what music does for both Kate and Ben but both of them have pasts that they rather ignore but they are both enthralled with each other and would love to find  out more about each other and themselves.

Kate and Ben are very complex people that they reader can relate too. Elliott  perfectly describes them that you can feel yourself right there beside Kate and Ben like you are one or both of their friends.  Wanting them to get together and be truthful with each other and themselves.

I would recommended Sweeter Than Birdsong  if you love a story that is full of hope and faith and if you love novels that a based on real people then you also get a bonus!

With Ben Hanby, a genius composer, Kate Winter, one of the first female college graduates in America, and John Parker, an ex-slave who risked his life time and again to help fugitive slaves, Sweeter than Birdsong is full of real heroes to inspire us. 0 The sound of Red Returning by Sue Duffy

About the book:

After losing everyone she loves, concert pianist Liesl Bower has nowhere to go but to escape into her music. Searching for the peace she usually finds in her concertos and sonatas, Liesl can’t shake the feeling that she is being haunted by her past . . . and by someone following her. When she spots a familiar and eerie face in the audience of a concert she’s giving for the president in Washington, DC, the scariest day of her life comes back to her with a flash. It has been fifteen years since Liesl watched her beloved Harvard music mentor assaulted on a dark night in Moscow and just as long since the CIA disclosed to her that he’d been spying for Russia. She had seen that man--that eerie face--the night Professor Devoe was attacked. And now he’s back--and coming for her.

On the run and struggling to rely on the protection of CIA agent Ava Mullins and handsome newspaper reporter Cade O’Brien, Liesl learns she is the prey of an underground cell of Russian KGB agents determined to restore their country to its former Soviet might. But what she doesn’t know is that she is in possession of something--a piece of sheet music--that Russian intelligence is now frantic to find. Inside that music is a secret code, the hidden transcriptions of her deceased mentor, that clearly identify a Russian mole operating inside Israel’s Department of Defense, a mole with enough power and access to execute a daring assassination that no one would see coming.

Caught in a deadly conflict between American and Russian undercover agents, this innocent young pianist is just trying to survive her own personal trauma. Through it all, Liesl must learn that no matter how dark her world grows or how fiercely her enemies pursue her, God is still in control--if only she can yield herself to His grace.
