0 Remembering 9 /11

There will be no book review today, the only story to get lost in is a real one. 10 years ago today will go down as one of the saddest day in history. The day when we lost thousands of our fellow Americans lost their lives in those two buildings, the Pentagon and that field in Pennsylvania. Our lives changed that day forever, some of our innocence was lost that  September day.


Yet it been ten years and we all moved on, we never forget those who lost their lives on  September, 11, 2001. Those who became hero's in this tragedy and those who lost the love ones. History was changed that day, our lives as we knew it changed that day and yet we still have men and women willing to fight for out freedom.

So as we Remember those that we lost on 911, let's also remember our troops fighting for us.

5 7 Scorpions: Rebellion

I was fortutate enough to be part of the blog tour for Mike Saxton's first book in the 7 Scorpions Trigoly : Rebellion. Rebellion  is a International Book Awards Finalist, Reader Views, Indie Excellence Finalist Book Awards, Reader Choice Award 2011 and Pinnacle Book Achievement Award winner

 

7 Scorpions: Rebellion (Book 1 of 3)

On May 7th, the mysterious dictator known only as the Zodiac unleashed an event called the Flash Storm, destroying every major city and military base across the world in one moment. No one saw it coming. There was no warning. There was no terrorist chatter. Hundreds of millions perished almost instantly. Humanity across the globe was plunged into chaos. In the days that followed, the enigmatic and frightening Seekers marched on the remnants of humanity, systematically enslaving or destroying everyone in their path.

All attempts to stand up to Zodiac’s Grand Army failed. His Seekers, who radiate a mysterious aura that induces intense fear were virtually unbeatable.  It seemed as though the prophecies of the End of Days were coming to pass until the day came that a glimmer of hope arose in the form of an exile who had been part of a super soldier experiment. It is up to this man, Vincent Black, to rally a resistance to free humanity from the grips of oblivion, if he can let go of his past.

My Thoughts

When I first started   7 Scorpions: Rebellion. My first thought was that this was a "guys book" totality full of science fiction lingo and that I was going to probably struggle through it. I was wrong though and not just in a small way but in one of the biggest ways possible. Saxton wrote a very gusty in your face distopian thriller that not only takes you on the thrilling ride as the characters fight for not only there survival but for their very existence. Under that he also makes a statement about social behavior and how one person treats another person can shape  the way that one thinks.  Rebellion takes it to the extreme but it makes one think.

Vincent Black is every girls dream if you like the bad boy persona with the heart of gold type.  One by one as the characters came into the story, I found myself relating to a character or thinking so and so is just like them. Even though their world is getting turned upside down  these characters stick together not only to save themselves but because its the right thing to do to save whom they can. 

I guess Rebellion could be categorized as a good vs evil but I feel that there is much more to it  its more about human nature. I was very honored to be  able to read  Rebellion and I can't not wait to read 2 and 3 in this Trilogy.
