3 Two Question Thursday!

This is going to be a very quick post today , because I have been neglecting the house somewhat as of late. I don't know about you but I'm really starting to get spring fever, I'm sick of the snow and I am ready for the spring flowers. So my questions have to do with spring.

1) Do you have flower beds that you tend to in the spring? If so what kind of flowers do you tend to plant?
2) What is you favorite flower either to plant or receive?

I tend to my flower beds all spring and summer long. In my beds I plant mostly perennials so that they come back every year. I add at least one new perennial a year. Then I plant annuals in my pots and that depends on what color combination I want to have that year. As far as my favorite flower of all time to plant or receive that would have to be lilies of any kind.

0 Updates and Five Question Friday

I'm so excited, I started this blog at the beginning of the year and although it's been a slow start, things are really taking off. I'm the next couple weeks I'm going to be reviewing some products I lined up, I am also participating in some book blog hops in the next couple moths. I Have also been excepted to review books for Night Owl Reviews. Thanks to all that are following my blog and joining me on this Awesome Journey! Now time for

1. Have you worn the same outfit more than one day in a row?
When I worked in the preschools and the school system, there is no way that I could or would I want to wear the same outfit two times in a row. Almost everyday I would feel so nasty and grimy that I had to take a shower as soon as I got home.

2. If you had to choose any LARGE city to live in, which would it be?
This is a easy one if I could live in one Large city that would be Chicago without a doubt. I've never been there but from what i can see if I had to live in a large city Chicago would be it.

3. Fly or drive with the kids on vacation?
Well I don't have any kids but if I did or even by myself I would fly as long as I could walk to where i wanted to go or catch a cab.
4. What is your idea of "spring cleaning"?
This reminds me I need to start my spring cleaning. I had to laugh at this one, because when I was a child I hated it when my mom did the "spring" cleaning. Now I see spring cleaning   as washing all the linens, organizing drawers, cupboards and closets along with washing down the walls.
 5. What is the best book you have ever read?

I love to read so I can't pick just one!

Well there you have my five question Friday. If you want to play along click the button above. Remember to check back often as I have some new exciting things going on. If you are not already a follower consider doing so and remember to leave you URL because I always follow back.

Have a AWESOME weekend!

6 My Tattoo and Two Question Thursday!

Well Last Friday one the the questions for five question Friday, was Do you have a tattoo? My answer was Yes, I have a dragonfly tattoo on my right hip. It didn't end there though, I started rambling about why I  got it, I caught myself and said that I would blog more about the meaning behind the dragonfly so here it goes,

I wanted to get a tattoo for years but I didn't want to get something to just get one or get something that I would regret down the line. So I decide that I would take my time and get something meaningful to me. I would look for hours and hours on the web for the perfect tattoo. Did I want a flower, something cutesy, a symbol, a word ,or something else? Finally, after years I decided that I would get a dragonfly. One decision down, next is decide what type of dragonfly to get? Do i get it in color or do I get in just in black? The main thing was that I wanted it to mean something so before I decided on what kind of dragonfly I decided to look up the meaning of the dragonfly and this is what I found out.

There is more to the dragonfly tattoos than just the beauty and creative possibilities opened by them. There are also deeper meanings, and also deeper meanings that have their roots in many cultures and in ideas that are hundreds of years old.
One example of the dragonfly being embedded into a culture is in the case of the Native American astrology teachings.  According to these teachings, the dragonfly is a totem animal spirit guide for people of all ages and for both men and women. The dragonfly spirit represents change and wisdom, the need to tell of dreams or wishes yourself. It can supposedly guide you and help you make your wishes reality.
Other meanings behind dragonfly tattoos are based on the real dragonfly that we know of. It is actually a very interesting creature that goes through many changes and has some distinct characteristics. The dragonfly is a very old species that was even around when the dinosaurs were still roaming the earth, and although the modern day dragonfly is quit a bit smaller in size, it can still boast an approx. 7 inch wingspan. Since dragonflies have survived so long, it can be assumed that they are good at surviving, are strong and adaptable. They are in fact show all of these features, and they are especially known for their strength which is used to hunt flies and mosquitoes and the dragonfly has a very strong jaw for catching such insects. The dragonfly also, similar to butterflies, has to go through a ritual metamorphosis. This fact is the basis for many fantasy designs dragonfly tattoos that are created to show the changeover, although this is often done in the form of a fairy or some other mythological creature. Before the dragonfly becomes the beautiful creature we know and recognize, it goes through a fairly long middle stage where it can be called ugly, however, once its wings open its beauty also opens.   This was taken from http://www.beautyassist.com/tattoos/dragonfly.html

I had went through a very rough time and I felt like I needed to always Have a reminder that the situation that I went through does not dictate the person who I am. So now that I look at my tattoo I am reminded of what I been through but also that I can move on.

Here is My Tattoo

This brings me to

3 Looking for blog Help

I would like to had different pages to my blog for example I want to add tabs for reviews, and my blog roll. Does anyone know? Also I want to make it so I can comment on a comment. If anyone can tell me how it would be greatly appreciated.

6 Five Question Friday

I have kinda been in a funk lately, A case of the winter blues I suppose. I don't mind winter but as I get older it seems like the winter gets longer and longer. Phil the groundhog told us that we were only going to have the ONLY have six weeks of winter, I hope he's right but I'm not going to hold my breath.
1. Would you rather be on ABC's Extreme Home Makeover or TL C's What not to Wear?
Do, I have to choose? I would love to be on both of them. Since I don't own my house though I guess I would have to say TLC What not to Wear.
2. Do you have any tattoos?
I have one it's a dragonfly and it on my right hip. I got it when I was 31 and it took me years to get one. I wasn't sure that even though I really wanted one but, I wasn't sure if I would regret it down the line. Anyways, I had a personal experience that went on for years (not a good one). When I finally got out of that situation. I decided that I needed I reminder of my own that things can change for the better. So I got myself a dragonfly, Why I dragonfly you ask? Actually, It has many different meaning but the meaning that I hold on too is that they are survivors and they have new beginnings.
OK so I have ramble on about my tattoo long enough. I think I'll do I post on my tattoo moving on.

3. Do you tell your kids about things you did growing up?
I don't have kids, but I do like telling my oldest niece about the awful things her mom did to me as a child. LOL!

4. If the traffic signal turns yellow, do you stop or speed up?
No, But I don't drive if I did drive though knowing me I would speed up.

5. What's your preference: chocolate or chips?
Chips, although I do like chocolate, unless I'm having a craving I'll pick up chips, preferably  Salt and Vinegar.

7 Two Question Thursday #22

Last week I parciapted in the

THIS
Thursday

Over at  Self  Sagacity and really had a fun time of it, So I decided that I would play along again this week.

We found out a couple of weeks ago that my sister was preggers again with her 3rd child and it got me thinking about the idea of birth order and how /and if that has any bearing or how we act ? How parents treat and what the expect out of the children? That lead me to my two question for this installment of Two Question Thursday.

1) Do you think that the birth order that you or children are born into effects on how they deal with life circumstances?

2) In your opionion do you think that parents treat their children differently depending in the order in which they were born, which in turn  dictates what the expect out of them?

Product Details

It was released yesterday Feb. 1 2011

This part of a expert from the book taken off http://www.elizabethgilbert.com/

A little girl found me that day.
Felipe and I had arrived in this particular village after an overnight journey from Hanoi on a loud, dirty, Soviet-era train. I can’t rightly remember now why we went to this specific town, but I think some young Danish backpackers had recommended it to us. In any case, after the loud, dirty train journey, there had been a long, loud, dirty bus ride. The bus had finally dropped us off in a staggeringly beautiful place that teetered on the border with China—remote and verdant and wild. We found a hotel and when I stepped out alone to explore the town, to try to shake the stiffness of travel out of my legs, the little girl approached me.
She was twelve years old, I would learn later, but tinier than any American twelve-year-old I’d ever met. She was exceptionally beautiful. Her skin was dark and healthy, her hair glossy and braided, her compact body all sturdy and confident in a short woolen tunic. Though it was summertime and the days were sultry, her calves were wrapped in brightly colored wool leggings. Her feet tapped restlessly in plastic Chinese sandals. She had been hanging around our hotel for some time—I had spotted her when we were checking in—and now, when I stepped
out of the place alone, she approached me full-on

Have a Great Wednesday!
