1 12 Days Of Christmas Giveaway! Day 4

Welcome To Day 4 Of The 12 Days Of Christmas Giveaway hosted by A Book Lover's Dream today I am giving away A copy of A Lancaster Christmas By Suzanne Woods Fisher and Two Tickets to the Christmas Ball By Donita K. Paul to  1 one lucky winner!

A Lancaster County ChristmasJaime and C. J. Fitzpatrick began their married life as most couples do--in love and looking forward to a bright future together. But four years later they've drifted apart and are almost ready to call it quits.

Mattie Riehl was hoping to give her husband Sol the Christmas gift they have both longed for--news that a baby was on the way. But as usual, she is disappointed. The holidays bring an acute awareness to Mattie that her dream of a big family isn't likely to become a reality.
Then a winter storm raging outside blows the Fitzpatricks into the Riehl home--and into a much slower pace of life. Can these two couples from different worlds help each other understand the true meaning of love this Christmas?
With her trademark plot twists and attention to detail, Suzanne Woods Fisher offers readers a beautiful Christmas story of love, forgiveness, and what truly matters in life.

Two Tickets to the Christmas BallCan mysterious matchmaking booksellers bring two lonely hearts together in time for Christmas?
In a sleepy, snow-covered city, Cora Crowder is busy preparing for the holiday season. Searching for a perfect gift, a fortuitous trip to Warner, Werner, and Wizbotterdad’s (a most unusual bookshop) leads to an unexpected encounter with co-worker Simon Derrick. And the surprise discovery of a ticket for a truly one-of-a-kind Christmas Ball.

Every year, the matchmaking booksellers of the Sage Street bookshop host an enchanting, old-fashioned Christmas Ball for the romantic matches they’ve decided to bring together.

This year, will Simon and Cora discover a perfect chemistry in their opposite personalities and shared faith? Or will the matchmakers’ best laid plans end up ruining everything this holiday?

1 Something So Right Blog Tour

I was fortunate enough to be part of the blog tour for Elyse Mady's new novel Something So Right.
Elyse as two contests going on right now so make sure you leave a comment on the post to be entered in a daily giveaway and also a grand prize giveaway which will be given away on Elyse's blog at the end of the tour. ( details below).

About Something So Right

After having her heart broken, Lily Carver fled north to manage an upscale resort—and back to her longtime friend Sam Denning. Though she’s well aware of how hot Sam’s become, she refuses to risk her heart again. No matter how incredible his kisses make her feel…

Sam’s been in love—and lust—with Lily since the summer they met. When he finally shows her how much he wants her, Lily can’t resist his seduction. But Sam’s a forever kind of a guy and she’s only interested in temporary, painless relationships.

Lily thinks she can protect both their hearts with a short affair to let their passion run its course, something where they both know the rules and can explore the sparks between them without getting burned. But their best laid plans are put to the test by their undeniable attraction—and by a secret Sam’s been keeping from Lily that could ruin everything.

My Thoughts

Something So Right is a very relate able novel to so many ( or at least it was to me). If you have ever been in a abusive relationship you know how hard it is to get out of it, and then when you do it's even harder to mover on because you are so scared to death of getting hurt you rationalize not wanting to hurt the other person. That is just what Lily is going through, she has been terribly hurt by the man she was going to marry that when she decides that she loves her best friend Sam she tells herself that she not good enough for him. On the other side Sam Has loved Lily all his life but because she seems disinterested he doesn't tell her afraid he would lose her forever.

Mady gives Lily and Sam so much depth that you can't help rooting for them to get together but at the same time your yelling at Lily because she just doesn't see that she has it all with Sam. This novel was well written and easy to read. If I had one criticism of the novel I would have to say that the lovemaking scenes border on erotica for me. That being said though it's a personal preference and not all took away from the story.

0 Remembering 9 /11

There will be no book review today, the only story to get lost in is a real one. 10 years ago today will go down as one of the saddest day in history. The day when we lost thousands of our fellow Americans lost their lives in those two buildings, the Pentagon and that field in Pennsylvania. Our lives changed that day forever, some of our innocence was lost that  September day.

Yet it been ten years and we all moved on, we never forget those who lost their lives on  September, 11, 2001. Those who became hero's in this tragedy and those who lost the love ones. History was changed that day, our lives as we knew it changed that day and yet we still have men and women willing to fight for out freedom.

So as we Remember those that we lost on 911, let's also remember our troops fighting for us.

May we  remember and honor.
May God Bless America!
May God Bless Us All!
and NEVER FORGET!

5 7 Scorpions: Rebellion

I was fortutate enough to be part of the blog tour for Mike Saxton's first book in the 7 Scorpions Trigoly : Rebellion. Rebellion  is a International Book Awards Finalist, Reader Views, Indie Excellence Finalist Book Awards, Reader Choice Award 2011 and Pinnacle Book Achievement Award winner

7 Scorpions: Rebellion (Book 1 of 3)

Product Details
On May 7th, the mysterious dictator known only as the Zodiac unleashed an event called the Flash Storm, destroying every major city and military base across the world in one moment. No one saw it coming. There was no warning. There was no terrorist chatter. Hundreds of millions perished almost instantly. Humanity across the globe was plunged into chaos. In the days that followed, the enigmatic and frightening Seekers marched on the remnants of humanity, systematically enslaving or destroying everyone in their path.
All attempts to stand up to Zodiac’s Grand Army failed. His Seekers, who radiate a mysterious aura that induces intense fear were virtually unbeatable.  It seemed as though the prophecies of the End of Days were coming to pass until the day came that a glimmer of hope arose in the form of an exile who had been part of a super soldier experiment. It is up to this man, Vincent Black, to rally a resistance to free humanity from the grips of oblivion, if he can let go of his past.

My Thoughts

When I first started   7 Scorpions: Rebellion. My first thought was that this was a "guys book" totality full of science fiction lingo and that I was going to probably struggle through it. I was wrong though and not just in a small way but in one of the biggest ways possible. Saxton wrote a very gusty in your face distopian thriller that not only takes you on the thrilling ride as the characters fight for not only there survival but for their very existence. Under that he also makes a statement about social behavior and how one person treats another person can shape  the way that one thinks.  Rebellion takes it to the extreme but it makes one think.

Vincent Black is every girls dream if you like the bad boy persona with the heart of gold type.  One by one as the characters came into the story, I found myself relating to a character or thinking so and so is just like them. Even though their world is getting turned upside down  these characters stick together not only to save themselves but because its the right thing to do to save whom they can.

I guess Rebellion could be categorized as a good vs evil but I feel that there is much more to it  its more about human nature. I was very honored to be  able to read  Rebellion and I can't not wait to read 2 and 3 in this Trilogy.

0 Two weeks of solo travel in Greece: a Pakistani girl's diary: Ebook By Aliya Anjum Book Review

Look at Greece through the eyes of a solo Muslim female traveler from Pakistan. See the pictures in the linked slideshow to follow the narration pictorially. Become a virtual fellow traveler in this tale. A travelogue that would take you through 4,000 years of Greek history connecting it with Hollywood and the Olympics in a storytelling narration that would be truly educational yet very gripping

Solo travel in Greece:a Pakistani girl's dairy: Is a very interesting look at the country Greece through the eyes of one Pakistani girls eyes. Being a work of non fiction it was very interesting to see how Aliya's point of view, it was especially interesting to me because I had traveled through the Greek islands on a two week. that also went up to Turkey. It is very well written and a easy read and it also takes a look at the different views that people have. If you are interested in Greek culture or just looking for something to read that tells a interesting story through another person eyes and their religious beliefs, then you will want to add Two weeks of solo travel in Greece: a Pakistani girl's diary to their reading list.

0 Happy Father's Day To all!

I just thought for  father's day that I would do a short post to all the dad's out there on father's day! Somethimes I think that we tend to put  to the second to mother's day but  I know that we all have father's out there that mean the world to us, So I just wanted to say to tall of you Happy Father's Day.

Fathers seldom say "I love you"
Though the feeling's always there,
But somehow those three little words
Are the hardest ones to share.
And fathers say "I love you"
In ways that words can't match -
With tender bedtime stories -
Or a friendly game of catch!
You can see the words "I love you"
In a father's boyish eyes
When he runs home, all excited,
With a poorly wrapped surprise.
A father says "I love you"
With his strong helping hands -
With a smile when you're in trouble
With the way he understands.
He says "I love you" haltingly,
With awkward tenderness -
(It's hard to help a four-year-old into a party dress!)
He speaks his love unselfishly
By giving all he can
To make some secret dream come true,
Or follow through a plan.
A father's seldom-spoken love
Sounds clearly through the years -
Sometimes in peals of laughter,
Sometimes through happy tears.
Perhaps they have to speak their love
In a fashion all their own.
Because the love that fathers feel
Is too big for words alone!

a special Happy Father's Day to My dad and my BIL
Have a Great day
love you Both!

4 Linda Hawley, Author of Dreams Unleashed. Guest blog spot, , review and giveaway.

I Had the great opportunity to  review  Linda Hawley's  first book   of The Prophecies Trilogy Dreams Unleashed. Not only that but Linda is also giving one of my lucky readers a chance to win a Ebook copy of Dreams Unleashed.  May I take the time now to thank Linda for her time and for writing such a amazing novel!

Author Bio:

"If I were going to clone myself as a writer, I would concoct a cloning recipe which would contain the following ingredients:
Lots of varied life experience, to give enough flavor
World travel experience, for color
Passion, for spice
A few crazy relationships, to create perspective
One or two quirks, to add a little crunch
Deep love, to introduce spirit
Curiosity, to add a little danger
A touch of paranoia, to interject alternate realities
Lots of knowledge about current events, for texture
Pride and humility, to bring human characteristics
A touch of insanity, for interest

These characteristics have made their way into the pages that you read. My head is filled with stories, and The Prophecies trilogy is only the first that's on paper. Writing it has been one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life. Many of the subplots and undertones of the trilogy came from my own life experiences.
I could tell you all about my higher education, my freelance writing experience, and a bunch of other pr
pofessional qualifications, but do you (the reader) really care about that? My guess is that you care more that I write compelling novels that take you into a new world, if only for a while.
Thank you for reading my stories."
 - Linda Hawley

Dreams Unleashed Synopsis:
It’s the near-future year of 2015, where technology governs life. In this dystopian world, governments control their citizens by tracking them with RFID. The right to personal privacy does not exist. The heroine, Ann Torgeson, having been trained by the CIA as a paranormal spy at nineteen years old, has enhanced abilities. Twenty-five years later, she lives a double life: first, as a technical writer for a tidal energy company in the Pacific Northwest, and second, as a member of the worldwide anti-government subversive organization, called GOG. When Ann’s vivid dreams turn real, she questions whether the doorway between her subconscious and reality has been permanently altered. When she starts to dig into her past, her present begins to unravel, leading the reader through events that twist and turn everything upside down. Question everything you know is essential in this trilogy.

 My thoughts.

Dreams Unleashed is a edge of your seat  Dystopian thriller! Ann Torgeson  has all the attributes that I wish that I had as a single 30 something female!

Hawley, did a great job with Dreams Unleashed main character Ann Torgeson. Ann is a successful , bright, independent woman in her 40's that knows what she wants and will go after it.  Ann works for the company
AlterHydro. writing instructional manuals. But little do we all know that Ann has a past and there is more to her than the eye can see.

I really did fall in love with the character of Ann, As I did with all of the key characters of Dreams Unleashed. I just love that fact that Hawley made sure that it the a clean language, no sex  novel. I had read somewhere Linda had  did that so her young daughters could read the trilogy if they wanted. I give my hat off to her for that, because there are many times when I reading  "Why in the heck did the have to use the Fword or OK why couldn't they say that they just made love and leave it at that ."  Because many times some of the words or scenes in the book, in my opinion  does not lend anything to the plot of the story. So I applauded Linda Hawley for omitting those type of scenarios and still giving her readers a AWESOME, INTUITIVE, RIVETING on the edge of you seat novel.

I would recommend Dreams unleashed to any reader from 12 to 100 and the only reason that I would not recommend it for a younger reader is because I feel that the might see it as hard to follow or comprehend and maybe a little scary as the over all  concept of the novel is Big Brother (the government) is tracking every one of your movements. I for one can't wait for book 2 of The Prophecies Trilogy to come out in late summer.

I would have to say tank tops, I just love to get  me some cute flirty tank tops.

3. Do you have your kids stay up on school stuff during summer vacation? (Or, if you don't have kiddos, did your parents make you keep up on school stuff during summer?)

2 How time Flies..............

I just can't believe that 1/2 of 2011 is over? Here we are in our 6 month and I just can't believe it! Summer has Just started and I already feel like I am behind. Although the first week of June was one of those week, you know the kind that you think that if you could just go back to bed things would be better or just call REDO and start all over.

Things started OK on Monday, we had a family picnic for the holidays down at my sister's house it was fun to watch Bella play in the kiddie pool and we had some great food. the Southwest Corn Pasta Salad that I made was Awesome if I say so myself:) We also celebrated my mom's 57th birthday. ( good thing she doesn't read my blog or she would kill me.) That was the end of my peaceful catching up week.

Tuesday I drop my cell phone went done the toilet Literally! Yes I had it in my hand one minute and next I was fishing it out of my toilet luckily my sister still had her old one that she allowed me to have. Another thing that I have been dealing with  has to do with a friend of mine, actually its my neighbor. She and I became friends after she moved next to me and shes nice enough but recently I noticed that she can make really hurtful comments and put you down but if you say anything to her you either rude or she cries. I can handle that  most of the time, it hurts don't get me wrong  but I know she has some kind of mental issues so i just leave it has "that's just the way she is". Lately like the last couple of weeks  she is very nosey and I can't even go read on my patio when shes home because she won't let me. If I'm on my computer and she comes to the door she asks me what I'm doing  when I say looking up stuff or just surfing she wants to know what. If the phone rings or someone comes to the door she wants to know details about who they are and why they were there. She Driving Me Crazy and I don't know what to do?

The week did end on a awesome note though I got to spend time with one of my good friends from Jr high and high school whom i have not seen in 20 years it was so good to see her we had a blast!

Well thanks for listening to me rant and ramble. Check back soon because I have some awesome reviews, interviews and giveaways coming up in the next few days and weeks.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend or at least whats left of it!

4 Another 5 Question Friday

I know that I have been lax on posting to my blog but things have been chaos here lately but I have decided to take control of my life so I have decided to make many changes and get on a routine and take care of me. But more of that to come later. Now on to..............

1. Do you apologize to your kids?
Well, I don't have kids of my own, but I do apologize to kids when I know that I'm in the wrong.

2. What color are your nails right now?

They are always natural, because I'm to  rammy and they tend to be chipped and look awful, I try to keep my toes painted at all times.k
3. When you were growing up, how difficult was it for you to stay home from school sick? (As in, did you have to vomit or just say "I don't feel good".)
LOL, OK this one I have to laugh at  because my mom could never tell when I was sick or not, So she ALWAYS let me stay home. Now my sister on the other hand was not so lucky mom could always tell if she was sick or not she could always tell through the eyes. I guess that was one good reason to have very dark brown eyes LOL!

5. Favorite website(s)?

1 Five Question Friday

It's been awhile since I posted something on my blog that is just so fun, so I decided to link up to Momma M's  Five Question Friday.

So Here it goes........
1. If you could buy any car, money not an option, what would it be?

Well, since I don't drive I really don't look at cars that much but, I always thought that it would be cool to tool around town in a Volkswagen bug. Not very senseable though here in Ohio since its  we tend to have winter 9 months of the year.

2. What was your worst first date ever?

That would probably be in college I got roped into going to a friends brother wedding , with another brother. He was so shy I ended about spending time with a 3rd brother. but still acting like the others date I couldn't wait for that weekend to be over.

3. How old were you when you fell in love for the first time?

LOL, that would be in the 4th grade with this boy named Trevor, I was so in love with him and so I was trying to get what I wanted  so I was chasing Trevor around the classroom,When I ran my hand across a Trapper Keeper and fell, splitting my chin wide open. I ended up getting  14 stitches and scary Trevor so bad that he didn't want anything to do with me.

4. When was the last time you reconciled your checkbook?

I take the 5th!

5. If you were going to fashion a "Wanted" Ad for a best friend, how would you word it?

It would be......

A 30 yr old something female looking for a Fun Loving, Loves life person to be her best friend. This person must be able to be there for me when I need you. To lend a shoulder to cry on. But at the same time you must be able to laugh at me and at yourself. You must be able to see the bright side of life and listen to whats being said . I don't ask anything of you that  I myself are not willing to do. If you aren't into being real there is no need to apply.

Hopefully you enjoyed my answers and if you like to join click the Five Question Friday above.

Hope you all have a Wonderful Weekend!

1. Have you ever testified in court? For what?

Unfortunately, Yes it was against my ex in front of the Grand Jury and was one reason that he went to prison and is also why I had to get a protective order, But enough of that on to the next question.

2. Do you still have your wedding dress?

Well, sorta of kind of, LOL! the reason I say that is because another ex's ( Not the one mention above) stepmother has it, she was going to alter it for me but we never got that far, we had a falling out and we haven't talked in over 2 years besides I don't think i want to wear it. If I ever get married.

3. Is there a special place you like to go when you're happy, sad, stressed, etc.?

If I'm sad or stressed I like to go spend time with my nieces, being with children seems to help me put things into perspective. I try to spend as much time as I can with them as much as I can.
4. If you have kids, do they sleep with you? If you don't have kids...will you let your kids sleep with you when/if you have them?

I don't have kids, unless I can count my fur kid. If so then yes he sleeps with me until he starts grooming himself, then off the bed he goes. as far a human kids if I had them I would only let them sleep w me once in awhile, like when they had a bad dream or if I haven't seen them for awhile and it would only be on the weekends if they were school age.

5. Do you watch late night TV?

LMBO! No not at all, most nights I'm in bed by 9pm and asleep by 10pm!
I'm still on school time even after all these years.

5 Waiting On Wednesday

Where She Went

It's Been quite a few weeks since I joined  Waiting On Wednesday Over at Breaking The Spine, But there is one that I can't wait to come out and that's  Where She Went by Gayle Forman. Due out April 5th 2011,

Where She Went

From Goodreads

It's been three years since the devastating accident ... three years since Mia walked out of Adam's life forever.
Now living on opposite coasts, Mia is Julliard's rising star and Adam is LA tabloid fodder, thanks to his new rock star status and celebrity girlfriend. When Adam gets stuck in New York by himself, chance brings the couple together again, for one last night. As they explore the city that has become Mia's home, Adam and Mia revisit the past and open their hearts to the future - and each other.
If I Stay, Where She Went explores the devastation of grief, the promise of new hope, and the flame of rekindled romance.

This is going to be on my To buy list for sure!

5 Well, It's the weekend- Any Plans????

It's the first weekend of March and I don't know about you but here in Ohio a lot of us are on the brink of floating away. With all this rain you think twice before you venture out these days. The forecast has more rain on the way for this weekend. So if you see my floating by throw me a line please! LOL!

I'm excited though Saturday night I get to have a Girls Night Out with my BBF we are going out to dinner and go see a play at our local playhouse. We haven't had a Girls night for a long time so I'm looking forward to this.

Now on to Five Question Friday

1. Have you ever forgotten your child in a store or at school?
Ummmmm. Well, I don't have any kids but I did leave a kid out on the playground where I used to sub. I did I spilt day where I sub in one classroom in the morning and a different classroom in the afternoon. Well, the afternoon class out at recess and I didn't have a rooster yet I went to go pick the kids. We went inside and I was reading a story  and other teacher brings in a student ( He never lined up when they blew the whistle) Luckily he was OK and I never got blamed. Did I mention they where 5 yrs old.

2. Where did you go on your very first date? (Like...first first, not first with your spouse or current significant other!)
That would be a bonfire at my neighbor's house when I was 15 with a guy that I like romantic huh?

3. What's your "silly" fear? (We're not talking water and heights.)

Dolls, you know the handmade ones that have painted on faces. Clowns also.
4. Confrontation: do you cause it, deal with is as it comes, or run far far away?
I deal with it as it comes, I won't cause it if that can be helped but once its there I won't run from it either.
5. Wood floors or carpet?
Carpet, but I rent so I have no choice. If I owned my own house I would have wood with area rugs.
